About Headroom
The evidence between a power claim and a decision.
Headroom is evidence software for reviewing a proposed additional load against supplied power, resource and cooling records within a defined scope.
Make a capacity decision easier to examine.
Headroom makes the reasoning visible: which record supports a limit, what assumption changed, where a constraint occurs and what remains unknown.
It is read-only, export-based and analyst-assisted. The responsible engineer confirms applicable inputs and assumptions; the software does not take equipment authority.
- Development
- Developed by Skip Middleton for Sinteag Energy.
- Intellectual property
- U.S. patent pending. Provisional application filed in 2026.
- Operating role
- No equipment control, control credentials or live-integration claim.
Transparent evidence, not a promise of certainty.
A reviewer can trace a finding to its sources, inspect the assumptions and see which records or conditions would change the conclusion.
Headroom v2.0 has completed its documented software verification. Separate public-data exercises checked record mapping, accounting, data quality and selected thermal calculations; they did not establish actual spare capacity at the Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF) of the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR), formerly the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Customer-site validation and qualified external engineering review remain outstanding.

One site. One question. An agreed period.
First Site Evaluation
Start with a fit discussion by email. The paid assessment covers one site and one decision, with scope, quote, authorization and data handling agreed before records are shared.
Standard assessments: Written finding within five business days after scope is agreed and the required records are confirmed. Broader assessments, including coupled power-and-cooling work, follow the schedule agreed in the written quote.
Review the records checklist and who develops Headroom. No sensitive records are needed for the initial inquiry.
Read-only, export-based and analyst-assisted. Findings apply to a supplied proposal, defined period and supported method; they are not operating approval or guaranteed capacity. Public capacity examples are synthetic. Customer-site validation and qualified external engineering review remain outstanding. Method boundaries and verification
